What Soda Lab is about…
Soda Lab explores cooking, eating and all other socialities in between as interwoven rituals or dance. It takes place in the living room. In living room. To discover a life filled with little subtle theatres and hospitalities. Each dance is broken down into movements and into sheer sensations. Each desires studied as impulses and signals. Big dramatic emotions can be recooked into simple feelings and energies that may turn into stories until they become reduced as performance.

Food:
Nowhere Kitchen offers some bites. The menu changes depending on the creativity, specialties and inspiration of the cooks. There are also tea, homemade drinks, selected wines and beer brews. If you have leftover ingredients, you can bring them as well and the cooks can integrate them into the day’s creations.

Donation:
Soda Lab is sustained on voluntary donations. The donations go to the cooks and hosts of the day for their creative labor, and for the use and upkeep of our host community salon Sari-Sari. We have suggested donations for food, drinks, creative time and performances. You give as you please. ❤

Special appearance by Soydivision
Soydivision Berlin is an art collective consisting of Berlin based Indonesians with the goal of provoking a discussion about the exploration and expression of identity through art and food. The experiences they went through both as foreigners and as long time residents in a land that doesn’t necessarily share the same characteristics with the one they hail from forces them to reevaluate their standing in a new society while retaining the aspects that consolidated their pre-formed identity. One of the most significant parts of this particular struggle comes from the different eating habits on one hand and the scarcity of familiar food on the other. Exposure to, and interaction with, different people, mediums, environments and design, lead to experimentations that Soydivision Berlin chose to tackle from an artistic and culinary perspective. Every output features a collaboration with a guest artist to reflect a process that demands symbiotic interactions, prone to unforeseen interventions and, ultimately, never-ending. Soydivision Berlin aims to explore all possible permutations, mixing, matching, amplifying, reducing in a performative as well as culinary context, ultimately translating their events into an interface for experimentations in the hope that it will help make sense of the environment we live in.
